More than 2,000 residents of Banjarmasin who were infected by the new novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were declared recovered.
The South Kalimantan Task Force for Acceleration Handling of COVID-19's data showed as many as 2,746 residents of the city confirmed positive for COVID-19, but 2,068 people have fully recovered.
Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi here on Wednesday said the recovery rate of the city residents infected with coronavirus was quite high lately, namely more than 70 percent.
"We should be grateful, and patients spirit to recover is high. The result is more than 2,000 people have recovered and reunited with their families normally," he said.

Meanwhile, the number of fatalities was considered to have been reduced significantly, with a total of 154.
He asked the public not to be lax in applying health protocol discipline in order to avoid transmission. Whereas new data on confirmed positive for COVID-19 remain, almost every day.
