The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) chapter of Balangan supports the implementation of the new normal order in the district, whose nickname Bumi Sanggam, with strict health protocol, including in performing congregational prayer (shalat berjamaah) in mosques for Muslims.

Head of Balangan MUI KH M Yusuf said, the district MUI welcomed the new normal in the field of religion, worship and places of worship. One of them regulates the limitation of the number of pilgrims.

"But it must refer to the health protocol that has been regulated by the government," he said.

Indeed, he continued, the majority of Muslim communities have been yearning to perform congregational prayer in places of worships.

"For this reason we hope that the congregation will also support the health protocol for the common good," he appealed.

Meanwhile, representatives of mosque council agreed to open the mosque with the provision of the health protocol.
