The Sahabat Balangan Centre (SBC), a humanitarian social organization in Balangan District, South Kalimantan, continues doing their routine of distributting monthly basic food for the needy and orphans.

SBC chairwoman Dewi Purwanti said the monthly basic food distribution has been running since 2018 until now.

"There were worries to carry out these activities in the midst of the global pandemic of COVID-19, but the SBC meeting via WhatsApp group has decided to continue distributing the basic necessities," she said.

Every month, continued Dewi, approximately Rp10,000,000 is distributed in the form of complete basic food for those who really deserved help.

"The SBC monthly basic food providing is in collaboration with Insan Mulia PAMA-Tabalong Foundation, Bank Kalsel branch of Paringin, a donation through Facebook Group Habar Balangan, members monthly contribution of Rp10,000, and direct donation through SBC account," she explained.

In fact, Dewi said, SBC will continue the plan to distribute Eid-package (Paket Lebaran) for people who really need to be helped, considering it has been routinely carried out every year in Ramadhan ahead of lebaran.

Meanwhile, Dewi added, according to the decision of the meeting the activities of house renovation and to send a child patient who suffer heart leak to Surabaya are all temporarily delayed due to global pandemic COVID-19.
