Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - The Kotabaru Manpower, Transmigration and Social Agency conducted a survey to forest area planned to accommodate the victims of the eruption of Mount Sinabung, Karo District, North Sumatra.

"We've done a survey at three points, hopefully enough to plan the location of the transmigration site in general," said Head of Manpower, Transmigration, and Social Agency of Kotabaru, Taufik Rivani, here on Tuesday.

The locations in the surveyed region included in Convertible Production Forest (HPK) with the status of the forest area under production (HP).

"We still need to coordinate with the Forestry Agency and Regional Working Units (SKPD) to change the status of the area to be used for transmigration sites," he said. According to him, ideally the agency seeking an area with a status of Other Usage Area (APL).

Taufik admitted reluctant to say where the location has been surveyed or areas that are convertible production forest (HPK) for fear will be used by the individual to gain advantage.

Separately, Regent Kotabaru H. Irhami Ridjani said that Kotabaru ready to accommodate at least 100 families of victims of the eruption of Mount Sinabung.
