Head of Banjarmasin Health Agency Machli Riyadi said that the government is preparing to increase the inpatient capacity of the city-owned Sultan Suriansyah Hospital.

"This year we will increase the capacity of patients' rooms and beds from only 30 to 130," he remarked here on Thursday (Feb 13, 2020). 

In addition, his agency has also budgeted the fulfillment of medical devices. "We really making an improvement for the hospital, so it provides maximum service, not only that, but with dignity," he said.

Chairman of the city Legislative Council's Commission IV Matnor Ali acknowledged that the hospital on the Jalan RK Ilir, South Banjarmasin, has again received a large budget for the procurement of medical facilities.

Even, he said, the budget allocation this year for the health is Rp218 billion.

"About Rp50 billion specially intended for the purchase of medical devices. We remind them to buy the original, not the fake ones, because many items now look original, even though they are fake, must be controlled properly. That what we ask the Health Office," he said.

DPRD (Legislative Council) will also take control of the medical supplies, as they must be ensured to be truly standard and of good quality, so they will be long-lasting.
