The District Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, is intensively conducting prevention of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) through Eradication of Mosquito Nest (PSN).
Head of the Tanah Bumbu Health Agency Setia Budi in Batulicin on Monday (Jan 20, 2020) said, the intensity of downpour is getting higher that it could trigger the potential of development of mosquito nests.
"In order to effectively prevent dengue fever, PSN must be carried out simultaneously in all areas by cleaning mosquito larvae and nests, and doing 4M plus," he stated.
4m plus is to drain water tanks/reservoir, to cover tubs, to bury or dispose used bottles or cans and to monitor containers or water tanks that have the potential to become mosquito breeding grounds by routinely clean them.
Other things is not to hang clothes, to raise larvae-eating fish, to plant mosquito repellent plants, sleeping using mosquito nets, larvasidation and making ovitrap. Ovitrap is a tool used to break the life cycle of a mosquito before a mosquito pupa turns into a simple mosquito.
