Social and humanitarian organization in Balangan, South Kalimantan, the Sahabat Balangan Centre (SBC), received aid from the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The assistance from the ministry was through the Directorate of Social and Elderly Rehabilitation in the frame work of the 2019 National Social Solidarity Day (HKSN).

Chairwoman of the SBC Dewi Purwanti revealed here, the amount of the aid was Rp110.950.000 for 210 elderly people, who have been receiving monthly routine aid in the form of  basic necessities (sembako), and assistance to renovate poor people houses (bedah rumah).  

"Alhamdulillah, we received the assistance at the South Kalimantan Social Service Office, Friday (Nov 29), hopefully we remain trustworthy, and of course we will distribute this assistance completely without any cuts and to be used for those who really need," she stated.

SBC, she said, stay to open donation from individual people or others, considering human as social beings should be able to help each other. 

"we are not only distributing basic needs for elderly or renovating poor people houses, but SBC also helping orphans, disadvanteg sick people, scholarship for underprivileged students, the need for blood donor," she pointed out.

"Even now SBC open donation for humanitarian relief to residents of Sebuku Island in Kotabaru, who have been effected by fire disaster up to hundreds of houses," she added.

If SBC lately less its public updating, it was because many perpetrators appeared to utilize the situation with pictures of people who need help, either for popularity, self enterest, or might be benefit, personal or group.

SBC, she continued, chose to move in a real work rather than exposure in media. But it never stop its humanity activities, especially monthly basic need assistance, scholarship, students needs, blood donor, and helping sick residents either in Balangan or referral hospital, she concluded.
