The Governor H Sahbirin Noor promised to give his attention to the rare typical plants of South Kalimantan in filling the Banua Botanical Garden area in Banjarbaru (about 35 kilometers north of Banjarmasin).

His promise was in response to the general view of factions of the South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) to the draft regulation on the Management of the Banua Botanical Gardens at the plenary meeting chaired by its Chairman H Supian HK in Banjarmasin on Monday.

"Planting rare or specific plants is one of the preservation efforts so as not to become extinct," he said in his response read by the Head of South Kalimantan's Food Security Agency Dr. Ir H Suparno, MAP.
