The District Administration of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan Province, is set to open flight route from the Bersujud Airport in Batulicin to Soekarno Hatta Airport in Tangerang, Banten.

"This discourse is carried out to support the development of a new capital in the Kalimantan Island," Head of Tanah Bumbu Transportation Agency Wisnu remarked in Batulicin, Monday (Nov 11, 2019).

The plan is, he said, th route will be served by Garuda Indonesia using a plane with a capacity of 90 seats.

A more deeper coordination has currently done with the Garuda management, he continued, and probably the operational will be in the last December 2019.

Garuda is planned to fly three times in one week. The certainty of the departing hours will be adjusted.

Both the local government and the airline have made their agreement, but the problem is related to aircraft fueling.

"The latest information is the Garuda Indonesia has submitted it request to harmonize this program, and hopefully it will be approved," he said.

The Bersujud Airport was informed to have an adequate airport facility that makes it possible to serve jet type aircraft.

"The (district) government has also planned to open a new route to Surabaya using Batavia Airlines, but at this time we focus to handle Batulicin-Jakarta flight," he said.
