Kotabaru, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) –The Kotabaru Environmental Agency invite people to plant trees around their homes to prevent environmental damage.
Head of Kotabaru Environmental Agency (BLHD), Hj Maslenawati, in Kotabaru on Sunday said, if people want to plant a tree, it will assist the central government program in planting one billion trees to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Benefits of planting trees not only serves to prevent flooding, but make the city look beautiful . And BLHD continued outreach to the community, the importance of planting trees. "But the fact is, public awareness is still not up," she said.
Maslena said, gradually BLHD will continue to provide direction and guidance not only to society, but also to the students.
She expects the people whose home yard is still empty be planted with trees.
"We can imitate what has done by school students, with the guidance given by the teacher, they are excited to plant trees around the neighborhood," she said
