Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani conducted the first rice harvest in Sungai Ulin Sub-District which produced satisfactory productivity and quality rice.
The rice harvest held on Tuesday in Sungai Ulin Village was also attended by the PKK Banjarbaru Chairwoman Ririen Nadjmi Adhani, the Commander of 1006 Martapura Military District, the Banjarbaru Police Chief and an invitation from the relevant agencies.
"Congratulations to the Karya Makmur farmer group who succeeded in harvesting local rice types of Unus Mutiara and Karang Dukuh. Hopefully the next harvest will be more abundant," said the mayor.
He said, farmer groups domiciled the neighborhood unit (RT) 23 in Sungai Ulin Village had succeeded in planting rice on an area of 1 hectare and were able to produce quality local rice.
"We are proud because the farmer groups can cultivate the land and work enthusiastically so that 1 hectare of land can harvest as much as 4.8 tons of rice in this dry season," he said.
Banjarbaru, he said, promotes horticulture plants and has succeeded in planting melons, tomatoes, chillies and other plants. This was carried out by the Banjarbaru KP3 Service in a number of areas.
