Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Raudhatun Nasyi Banjarbaru Foundation received assistance from BUMN (SOE) for Rp100 million and will use it to build dormitories, dining rooms and kitchens.
"The renovation assistance for this institution greatly alleviates the burden on the management," said foundation secretary Muhammad Nasir after iftar together in the BUMN Hadir Untuk Negeri (SOEs Present for the Nation) Ramadhan Safari with a thousand orphans in Banjarmasin on Thursday.
He revealed, the condition of the Raudhatun Nasyi Orphanage Islamic Boarding School on JI MR Cokrokusumo Bumi Barkat, Sei Besar, Banjarbaru, is in the process of being renovated so it needed a lot of additional costs.
"This activity is very helpful for the institution's operations and for helping children," he said.
Representative of the Ministry of BUMN Hari Muhammad Rohim said, the activities aimed to bring the BUMNs closer to the community as well as to play a role in the development and fostering togetherness to remote parts of the country, since 2015.
There are six programs carried out, including free homecoming travel, Ramadhan Safari, healthy walks, student exchanges through the Student Knowing Archipelago Program and other activities.
Especially for Ramadhan Safari in Banjarmasin, he added, he also programmed the renovation of five orphanages, with funds of Rp100 million each.
Head of Jasa Raharja South Kalimantan Branch Muhammad Zulham Pane said, in the Ramadhan Safari there was a compensation of Rp250,000 per child and a gift of Rp100,000 per child to a thousand orphans.
