Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The South Kalimantan Traffic Police's Sub Directorate of Education and Conjecture (Dikyasa Subdit) invites students to accustom cycling to school while still obeying traffic rules on the highway.
"Cycling is part of the Community Healthy Transportation (TSM) which we are now campaigning for including to students in schools," Head of the Subdit Dikyasa of South Kalimantan Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Nina Rahmi in Banjarmasin.
Some policewomen from the Subdit Dikyasa visited by the state junior high school SMPN 7 ON Jalan Veteran, East Banjarmasin.
Nina hopes that students and teachers will know and understand very well about TSM. So that the use of bicycles when going to school is expected to increase further in the future.
"Especially for junior high school students, later when they graduate and learn in high school they continue to use bicycles because they are aware of the importance of health as well as traffic safety. Because motorbike riders are very vulnerable to becoming victims of accident, including involving school students," she explained.
As is known, the South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Traffic carried out the Healthy Public Transportation (TSM) so that the people in this province get used to it.
Nina revealed that the Socialization of healthy transport is carried out within the framework of the Year of Safety and Orderly Driving Culture.
The three main points of healthy populist transportation are walking, cycling, and the use of public transportation in urban areas.
