Barabai, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - A total of 16 villages in the Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Kalimantan, declared Open Defecation Free (ODF). The declaration took place in the Dwi Warna field Barabai.
Head of HST Health Agency H Kusudiarto, Tuesday (9/10) in Barabai said that HST is one of 3 regencies and cities in South Kalimantan that is chosen by the province as the center of declaration in order to succeed the healthy living community movement (Germas).
As for the achievement of the ODF village is a form of cooperation between the HST Government, in this case the Health Agency, with the TNI (Indonesia Armed Forces).
According to him, there are 16 villages that have passed verification from the Ministry of Health and are declared to have 100 percent healthy latrines and declared free from defecation.
The villages are Murung A, Pantai Batung, Awang Besar, Gambah, Benawa Tengah, Kayu Bawang, Durian Gantang, and Guha. Furthermore, the villages of Sungai Rangas, Pandawan, Banua Asam, Banua Supanggal, Buluan, Mahang Matang Landung, and Palajau and one Urban village, namely North Barabai.
"The village heads and urban village head immediately declared that their villages are free from open defecation and would continue to protect their citizens not to do it in an open place," he said.
This activity was attended by the chairwoman of the HST Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) and the officials of the district government, also attended by FKPD members, DPRD members, community leaders and heads of community health centers (puskesmas).
