Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Transportation Agency is campaigning traffic safety in a unique and public facing way through minisoccer tournament called “Road Safety Cup 2025”.
Regional Secretary of Kotabaru H Eka Saprudin said this tournament is not just a sporting event, it is also a means of promoting traffic safety that must be promoted continuously.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility. Through this event, we want to raise public awareness, especially young people, about the importance of orderly traffic,” he said in Kotabaru, Monday.

He also hopes that this tournament would stengthen ties between agencies and create positive energy for regional development.
An exhibition match between Bapperida and Kotabaru Regional Secretary teams at the the opening ended in a 2-2 draw.
Head of Kotabaru Transportation Office Khairian Anshari explained that this activity is part of Hubfest, a series of activity hat this year will be more varied and targeting various segments of society.
From safety education for pre-school children through traffic-themed coloring contest, SALUT gymnastics for elementary school, a quiz competition for junior high school students in collaboration with Education Office, to a transportation innovation competition for high school students which also serves as a selection for pioneering students.

The Transportation Office also involves public community in a discussion forum on transportation issues, including the issue of over dimension and over loading (ODOL), which remains a public concern.
The 2025 Road Safety Cup took place from November 14 to 16, 2025, with participation from various agencies and communities. The opening match was exciting and attacted the attention of people attenting the arena.
Through this event, the district government of Kotabaru hopes to deliver road safety campagin in a fun and effective manner, while building a culture of orderly traffic behavior in the society.
