LtCol Muhammad Arif replaces LtCol M Harun Al Rasyid as Kotabaru Naval Commander

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Naval Base (Lanal), South Kalimantan, held a handover ceremony for the Commander from Marine Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) M Harun Al Rasyid, ST, MTr Opsla to Marine Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol) Muhammad Arif, ST, MT, MTr Opsla.

LtCol M Harun Al Rasyid said the synergy between the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and all elements of the society is a key strength in maintaining regional stability, particularly in waters and coastal sectors.

“A harmonious and solid relationship we have established so far has been a crucial asset in carrying out duties. I express my gratitude for the excellent cooperation we have established,” he said in Kotabaru, Wednesday.

He also apologized for any shortcomings during his service adn asked for blessing for his assignment on KRI Banjarmasin.

The new Commander of the Kotabaru Naval Base LtCol Muhammad Arif introduced himself and asked for support from all parties to continue the programs and synergy has been established previously.

“I ask for support and cooperation of the Forkopimda, Injasmar (marine service industry), and media to jointly safeguard and develop the Kotabaru region,” he said.

He emphasized his commitment to uphold local wisdom and stengthening cross-sector coordination to maintain security stability and support regional develoment.

Kotabaru Deputy Regent Syairi Mukhlis expressed his appreciation for the dedication of LtCol M Harun Al Rasyid during his service in Kotabaru.

He stated that the Naval Base plays crucial role in maintaining the security of waters in the region, which has many islands.

“On behalf of the government and the people of Kotabaru, we express our gratitude for your dedication and service. We wish success in your new assignment,” he said.

He also welcomed the new Naval Base Commander and hopes that the synergy between Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), the local government, and all elements of society would continue to improve.

The farewell and welcome ceremony was concluded with a friendly gathering, as a sign of respect and to stengthen relationship between all those present.
