Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A member of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Legislative Council (DPRD) Gewsima Mega Putra has promoted an investment in "Bumi Saijaan" or Kotabaru to Chinese investors at the Indonesia-China Bilateral Relationship a New Chapter In The Journey of Thousands Miles in Jakarta.
"We introduce Kotabaru to investors from China to invest in South Kalimantan," said Gewsima Mega Putra in Kotabaru, Thursday.
Kotabaru District, he said, is one of the regions in Kalimantan as a buffer for the new capital city of Nusantara (IKN).
It has a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the southern tip of the island (Pulau Laut).

“Hopefully investment for Kotabaru SEZ to be realized, like SEZ in Batang District, Central Java,” he said.
With its great potential and natural resources, he said, it is very suitable for Kotabaru to become SEZ and be promoted to external parties.
"Kotabaru has almost all conditions that support it, geographically it is right in the middle of Indonesia, its sea is in the Indonesian archipelagic sea lane (ALKI) II (which is establshed to connect the Indian dan Pacific Oceans)," he said.
So, he continues, Kotabaru waters have become one of sea toll routes which are sea crossing not only within the country (western and eastern Indonesia) but also as Asean and world crossings.
The large and complete natural resources from mining, plantation, marine and fisheries, as well as long coastline provide very prospective tourism potential.
The event was attended by Red White cabinet ministers, Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and investors from China.
