Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Kotabaru Regent H Muhammad Rusli moved quickly by deploying heavy equipment to repair damaged road connecting Tanjung Harapan Village and Labuan Mas Village in Pulau Laut Selatan Sub-district, ensuring smooth transportation flow in the area.
Regional Secretary of Kotabaru Eka Saprudin said that the local government is ensuring that road maintenance is public service priority.
“The step taken by the Kotabaru government is a routine obligation in serving the community, not simpy a reaction to a viral video circulating,” he expounded.

The Secretary has instructed relevant office to take a concrete steps, such as mapping damaged areas for immediate repairs through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) program to accelerate regional road development.
“The 2026 connectivity target, is to complete and make Pulaulaut ring road functional in 2026, from Tanjung Seloka to Berangas,” he said.
To handle the damaged road, the Public Works and Public Housing Office (PUPR) deployed motor graders to level and smooth the road, as well as compactor/roller to compact and stabilize the soil.

The heavy equipment is focus on paving and leveling the road to restore smooth and safe access between villages.
This is a concrete form of the Kotabaru government's commitment to provide the best service to the community, especially in road infrastructure which is the main support for residents economic and social activities.
