Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Library together with South Kalimantan Library and Archive Agency (Dispersip) are seeking to increase accreditation of school libraries in the province.
Head of South Kalimantan Library and Archive Agency Nurliani said that each type of library must meet the standard iin accordance with Article 11 of Law No. 43 of 2007 concerning Library.
"Each type of library must meet the standards, such as collection, facilities and infrastructure, services, library staff, implementation and management standards," she said here on Friday.
School library accreditation is in line with vision and mission of the provincial government of South Kalimantan to develop quality human resources with noble character.

Daily Executive Secretary of Dispersip Adethia Hailina expounded that the agency is collaborating with the National Library to improve school library accreditation in this region.
Based on the National Library data, the number of accredited libraries is still low, about 10 percent or 190 out of 1,800 school libraries in South Kalimantan.
South Kalimantan strives that all school libraries to undergo accreditation every year, so that their quality will be better in the future.
"Including to improve people literacy development index to realize South Kalimantan prosperous and sustainable," said Adethia.
She hopes all school libraries to prepare the requirements to improve their accreditation by 2025.
National Library assessor Mochamad Isra Hajiri said that library accreditation program is one of the government's efforts to realize an intelligent national life through advanced libraries.
"We want to prepare human reources who are ready to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045, South Kalimantan as a buffer area for IKN, so we need to prepare human resources as best as possible," he said.
On that occasion, he presented material on National Library Standard (SNP) to encourage libraries to meet quality and quantity, especially library collection and human resources.
He said the obstacles faced by libraries in undergoing accreditation including facilities and infrastructure that do not meet assessment standards.
