Kotabaru drafts SOP for geopark management

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The district government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, is continuing to strengthen Saijaan Bersujud Geopark management by drafting SOP to define roles and responsibilities.

Kotabaru's Assistant for General Administration, Anang Muhammad Zen, said that SOP drafting is crucial to clarify governance and division of tasks among regional agencies in geopark development.

“Through the organization, there needs to be a SOP so it confirms who or which SKPD (agency) is doing what in accordance with their mandate and authority,” he said here on Wednesday.

He expounded that it is in line with the issuance of the Kotabaru Regent Regulation Number 75 of 2026 concerning Geopark Governance, which emphasizes the importance of collaboration across regional agencies.

The geopark development cannot be undertaken by a single government agency. Synergy of various sectors is needed, so that the potential of geology, environment, education, tourism, people economy to infrastructure can be developed in integrated manner.

In addition to preparing SOP, the activity is also a momentum to further introduce the potential of geosite Tumpang 2 as one part of Saijaan Bersujud Geopark.

Geosite Tumpang 2 is currently being developed by the Kotabaru Tourism, Youth and Sports Office as one of the regional tourist destinations.

M Octo Brahma Yogayana, Head of the Kotabaru Organization Division, explained that the preparation of SOP refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Permen PANRB) Number 19 of 2018 concerning Business Process Maps of Government Agencies and PermenPAN-RB Number 35 of 2012 on Guidelines for the Preparation of Government Administion Standard Operating Procedures.
