Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Ahead of Eid a-Fitr 1445 hijriah or 2024, the Kotabaru Transportation Service is conducting Traffic and Public Transportation Safety Inspection at several terminals in Pulau Laut Utara Sub-district.
"This activity is to assure the safety of homecoming travelers (pemudik)," said Head of Vehicle Testing of the Transportation Office Akbar di Kotabaru, Saturday.
Head of Kotabaru Transportation Office Khairian Anshari through this official said rampchecks were carried out to address the surge of homecoming travelers to ensure public transport safety during Eid season.

The activities are conducted in collaboration with Kotabaru Police Traffic Unit.
"We are focusing the implementation locations at the city terminal in front of the city park, Kotabaru Tengah terminal, and at Gusti Samsir Alam Airport," said Akbar.
Some vehicle administration points include driver's license (SIM), Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK), and vehicle ownership documents (BPKB).
"We also checks roadworthiness of public transport cars, and advise drivers and passengers to always prioritize safety," katanya.
"Of the 15 samples from the inspection results, there were two vehicles have expired vehicle road worthiness test (KIR) certificate, and we direct them to immediately carry out periodic testing (kir) at the Kotabaru Transportation Office at Stagen Terminal," said Akbar.
