Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The government of South Kalimantan Province provides safe houses for victims of violence equipped with various assistance to recover from trauma in 13 districts and cities.
“For victims of violence, please come to safe house through the technical implementation units (UPTD) in districts and cities that we have provided,” said Acting Head of South Kalimantan Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Family Planning Office (DP3AKB) Adi Santoso in Banjarbaru, Friday.
In safe house, he said, victims will be given assistance, from psychological recovery, legal assistance, counseling, and post mortem.

“Safe houses is also a community-based integrated child protection, making it easier for UPTD in districts and cities to monitor cases of violence at village and urban village level,” he pointed out.
Adi expounded that the community-based integrated child protection becomes one of solution to resolve cases of violence against children.
After UPTD receives the report, he said, officers immediately handle the case by prioritizing protection and trauma recovery for victims, then provided them with other assistance if needed.
Adi said in 2023, his office had handled and provided assistance tp 47 cases of violence against children and 32 cases against women.
He invited all parties to get involved in providing protection for victims of violence, including media which has a very strategic role in monitoring violence cases that occur in society.
