Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Hundreds of cyclists from various provincies in Indonesia competing in the 8th Tour de Loksado 2023, the cycling tour and sport tourism covering three districts in South Kalimantan, spanning 150 kilometers.
"447 participants take part in the 8th Tour de Loksado 2023. They are from 12 provincies in Indonesia. Female cyclists are quite enthusiastic with 37 participants," said Head of South Kalimantan Tourism Office Syarifuddin in Rantau, Saturday.
Starting from Kiram, one of tourist destinations in Banjar District, to go to Tapin, then continued to South Hulu Sungai (HSS) District, exactly to its capital, Kandangan, for a stopover.
Here then, the race will begin to reach the finish line in Loksado, the National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) which is one of Meratus Geopark sites.
"At 14.00 Wita will take their start from South Hulu Sungai and racing to Loksado," he said.
Participants will enjoy typical views of Meratus Mountains when crossing the Kandangan to Loksado route, racing on the track up and down the mountain.

He expounded that the competition was devided into four, one for women, and three categories for men based on age groups.
Participant who record the fastest time will receive a cash prize from the South Kalimantan Tourism Agency. Award and medal also provided based on the category.
“We hope that this activity will help increasing regional economy,” said Syarifuddin.
