Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The 2023 Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival to be held on March 10-23, 2023 in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, is targeted to attract as many as 75,000 domestic and foreign tourists.
Chair of the Committee of the 7th BSF Hj Siti Wasilah here on Wednesday said they are optimistic there will be an increase in tourists visit this year.
Especially, said Wasilah, who is also the Chairwoman of the Banjarmasin Family Welfare Empowerment, that BSF has been recognized as the national event by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia.
BSF has been listed among 110 Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) in 2023 that makes it promoted both nationally and internationally by the ministry.
Looking back to 6th BSF in 2022, Wasilah recalled that the event has recorded 47,000 foreign and domestic tourists attended when it was held at the Siring Sungai Martapura (Martapura River Embankment) attraction on Jalan Piare Tendean.
"Thus we target the 7th BSF (to attract) as many as 75 thousand domestic and foreign tourists," she pointed out.
Wasilah said that the 7th BSF will be presented very lively supported by many capital city artists on the main stage on the River of Martapura.
Exhibition of Sasirangan MSMEs, Sasirangan fashion show, carnaval and Sasirangan parade, also Sasirangan discussion forum.
Competition, such as mass hand sewing, Sasirangan motif, till boat attraction of the acil Pasar Terapung (floating market hawkers).
The 7th BSF in 2023 takes the theme "Enchanment of Sasirangan Motif Creration with Traditinal Banjar Clothes" aims to preserve the Sasirangan cloth which is the Heritage of the Archipelago of South Kalimantan.
"We also prepares A Batik Nusantara Showcase presenting Batik, Songket or woven according to the them The Colour Of Life or Warna Warni Wastra Nusantara," she said.
