Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The ongoing scarcity of cooking oil in the community become a concern of PT Jhonlin Group by building a cooking oil factory through its business unit, PT Jhonlin Agro Raya (JAR).
The construction of the factory of the subsidiary of Jhonlin Group in Sungai Dua, Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, is carried out by PT Wijaya Karya Rekayasa Konstruksi from July 29, 2021 and is targeted for completion on July 29, 2022.
"The Jhonlin's cooking oil factory is a fractionation of a refinery that will process 250 tons of raw material per day and is able to produce 160 tons cooking oil per day,” said Director of PT JAR Zafrinal in Batulicin, Friday (March 4, 2022).
According to Zafrinal, currently the constrution project employs 250 local residents. When operating, the factory with a digital operation will absorb 60 operational personnel.
"If the factory operates of course it will create new jobs and the plan is it absorbs 80% of the local workforce," he said.

Jhonlin hopes that the existance of this cooking oil factory in South Kalimantan will help improve the economy from upstream to downstream in the palm oil agro-industry, considering the potential market of cooking oil. The need every year continue to increase and the people need quality cooking oil at competitive price.
GM of PT JAR Mathirlan Romadhoni said the new factory' production target will be gradual from 50 tons per day until it reaches a maximum capacity of 160 tons per day.
"We produce cooking oil with packaging of 0.5 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liter to meet the people's purchasing power, considering the market for 0.5 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liter is quite large," he said.
According to him, the market area in the early stage will prioritize the need of the people of South Kalimantan, although it is possible to expand to other provinces in Kalimantan.
“The advantage of JAR cooking oil is that it is processed from its own palm oil plantation and has premium qualty so that the price will be competitive and affordable,” he said.
