Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - North Banjarmasin Sector Police called residents to be aware of street crimes when outside home.
"We urge people not to neglect street crime that at any times it can happen to each of them," said North Banjarmasin police chief Commissioner Herry Purwanto Sik here on Monday.
He said the current street crimes which often occurs is jambret (mugging) or better known here as "si Raja Tega" (king of no mercy)
Anticipating this crime not to happen to them while on the road, he called them not ever overwearing jewelery when outside home or when in crowded places such as markets.
Moreover, most of victims of acts of street crime are dominant on women both young and old woman.
Women also be reminded to always be alert and cautious when driving a two-wheeler do not use flashy jewelry, put your wallet and valuables under the seat of vehicles, as well as when traveling not alone.
