Rantau, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - As many as 70 elementary schools (SD) and junior high schools (SMP) in Tapin District, South Kalimantan, began face-to-face learning on Thursday (May 20, 2021).
Head of Tapin Education Agency Ahlul Jannah in Rantau Wednesday said the decision was in accordance with the permission of Regent M. Arifin Arpan and was supported by the readiness of each school.
"The 70 schools are in 12 sub-districts in Tapin, consisting of 52 SDs and 18 SMPs. They have declared that they were ready. Face-to-face learning is being carried out in stages. The total schools in Tapin are 178 SDs and 26 SMPs," she said.
The teachers, she continued, had administered the COVID-19 vaccine. Some are still waiting for the second dose of vaccination.
"Alhamdulillah, so far there is no rejection from parents, but if in the process of implementation there are parents who refuse, learning will continue to be served as usual, namely online and offline," she said.
She explained that the face-to-face learning will be carried out with strict health protocols, including study hours of 08.00-10.00, without a rest period, and in the classroom, there are only 18 students allowed. In addition, the school is required to form COVID-19 Security Task Force.
"If in the process there is a school that is exposed to COVID-19, please immediately close without having to ask permission first, but please report to the Education Office," she said.
The Education Office will regularly monitor the development of schools that carry out face-to-face learning.
"For kindergarten school as directed by the Ministry (of Education) face-to-face learning cannot be carried out," she said.
