Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - PT Adaro Energy through Adaro MetCoal Companies (AMC) has again shown its consistency and commitment to help local government in fighting the coronavirus outbreak, especially in Murung Raya District, Central Kalimantan, by donating two types of ventilators, COVENT-20 and DHARCOV-23S.
COVENT-20 is a portable ventilator developed by the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia (FT-UI) and is sponsored by PT Adaro Energy in its manufacture and distribution through the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation (YABN).
While the DHARCOV-23S ventilator was developed by the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) in collaboration with PT Dharma Precision Tools.
The two types of ventilators were submitted directly to Puruk Cahu District Hospital to help patients with breathing problems, especially in COVID-19 ICU.
AMC's Community Development Section Head Sri Armiyati Jarkasi explained that since the beginning of the pandemic in Central Kalimantan, especially in Murung Raya District, AMC has always committed to helping the local government.
Starting from disinfectant chambers, personal protective equipment (PPE) to basic food assistance for people affected by COVID-19 has been distributed to the recipients.

“We hope that this assistance to strengthen the service and capacity of COVID-19 referral hospitals and emergency hospitals in Central Kalimantan in handling COVID-19 patients with a certain condition, such as severe respiratory problems,” said Sri.
The representative of Puruk Cahu Hospital who received the two ventilators, dr Sugianto Parulian, expressed his appreciation to all parties who have paid attention to the existing facilities and infrastructure in the hospital, as is done by PT Adaro.
“We really need these two types of ventilators, especially in the midst of a pandemic," Sugianto said.
