Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Two hotspots were found in Muara Uya Sub-district, one of the working areas of the Tabalong Forest Management Units (KPH).
Head of Forest Protection of the KPH Zainal Abidin said the two hotspots were detected as the result of monitoring of Fire Lapan Hotspot application and ground check.
"The hotspots were observed in Pasar Batu Village, Muara Uya Sub-district, and were in the Other Utilization Area (APL) function," Zainal said.
At the first point, an area of land burned was about half a hectare with the fire still burning.
The Forest Protection team met the owner of the land at the hotspot and helped put out the ember by spraying water using jet shooter.
Zainal said, in addition to the effort to extinguish the fire, the team also reminded the landowner to support the effort to prevent land and forest fire.
In the second point, the land burned was about one hectare, the fire had already put out, and the team found not any people doing activities in the location.
