Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has added 1,942 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, with 2,088 people recovering from the disease and 79 others succumbing to it, the Task Force for COVID-19 Response reported on Wednesday.
The country's tally has now increased to 130,718 confirmed cases, with recoveries touching 85,798 and fatalities 5,903.
The total number of specimens examined in Indonesia has so far reached 1,783,673, including 26,248 new samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Jakarta has recorded the highest number of new cases at 529, followed by East Java with 303 cases, Central Java with 179 cases, West Java with 109 cases, and North Sumatra with 109 cases.
Central Java province is the region with the most deaths per day, namely 20, and Jakarta is the province with the highest number of recoveries at 819.
As of Wednesday, provinces with the largest number of confirmed cases include Jakarta (27,153), followed by East Java (26,220), Central Java (10,944), South Sulawesi (10,675), and West Java (7,803).
The highest number of recoveries have been recorded in East Java, with a total of 19,125 people recovering from COVID-19 in the province, followed by Jakarta with 17,449 recoveries, South Sulawesi (7,450), Central Java (7,008), and West Java (4,554).
