Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The South Kalimantan Police's Directorate of Narcotics Investigation have just made a large catch of 32.6 kilograms drug to break the catch record in the area before 20 kilograms of methamphetamine in July 2018.
"We are very appreciative and give extraordinary appreciation to the South Kalimantan Police Chief and the ranks for the large disclosure of this international network. Thank God this drug did not circulate," said South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor on Monday (Jan 20, 2020).
The governor was speaking when attending a press conference on drug disclosure with the suspect SA held at the South Kalimantan Police Headquarters.
The governor, familiarly called Uncle Birin, claimed he could not imagine if the confiscated drugs were circulating, how many victims had been poisoned.
"The police estimate with the total evidence the South Kalimantan Police's Directorate of Drug Investigation has saved as many as 237,119 people from drug abuse," he pointed out.

He then invited all levels of society to get together all out to eliminate drugs from the Bumi Lambung Mangkurat (nickname of South Kalimantan).
According to him, law enforcement officers cannot work alone without the support of the community. Roles residents can do include prevention efforts to ensure family members and the surrounding environment are not exposed to drugs.
"The slightest information from the public will be very useful for the police. Please anyone know there are indications of drug trafficking or use, report it to the police or BNN. Do not be left if we really care about the safety of the future generations of the nation," he concluded.
South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Ins.Gen. Yazid Fanani ensured that efforts to eradicate drugs continued. He revealed his members worked tirelessly day and night to suppress circulation.
"In addition to arresting the traffickers, of course we also continue to encourage prevention efforts, so that users can be reduced. Because as long as there is demand, the dealer network will continue to supply these illicit goods. Let those who have been exposed as addicts to immediately undergo rehabilitation at BNN for free to get well, "said the two-star general.

South Kalimantan Police Drug Detective Director Sr Comr Wisnu Widarto explained, the SA was arrested on Saturday (Jan 18, 2020) at 14.45 on Jalan Pembangunan 1, South Belitung Urban Village, Banjarmasin City, while in a narcotics transaction.
Then the Opsnal Team of the directorate conducted a search of his rented house on Jalan Rawasari Banjarmasin until a total of 32,615.48 grams of narcotic evidence was found.
Evidence consists of 26.3 kilograms of meth, 19,900 meth pills, 2.1 kg of Yaba meth, 600 ecstasy capsules, 9,143 ecstasy pills, and 505 grams of ecstasy powders.
"The suspect played a role as a storage warehouse. Goods from the Malaysian network that were brought by sea to Sumatra transited to Surabaya to reach Banjarmasin via the port," said Wisnu.
From the findings of the transaction evidence recapitulated by the 28-year-old youth born in Pelaihari, in 2018 there were 212 kg of narcotics sold, then in 2019 there were 389 kg.
"So a total of around 600 kg circulated during the last two years. While we managed to reveal only 10 percent," concluded Wisnu.
