Paringin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - About thousand of teachers using the PGRI (Indonesian Teachers Association) attributes packed the courtyard of Balangan Regent office as they commemorated 74th anniversary of the organization in the Bumi Sanggam (nickname of Balangan), South Kalimantan, Saturday (Nov 30, 2019).
The event was also attended by Regent of Balangan H Ansharuddin, members of Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), secretary of the district, head of Education Agency, chairman of PGRI Balangan, and other heads of government agencies and regional apparatus organization (OPD), and Chairwoman of the Balangan Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Hj Nursidah Ansharuddin.
In his remarks, Education and Culture Minister Nadiem Anwar Makarim, read by Regent H Ansharuddin, said that teacher has a noble duty and the most difficult at once.
"Teachers are assigned to shape the future of the nation, but are frequently given more rule than help," Ansharuddin said reading the minister's speech..
While teacher trying to help students who are left behind in class, they are running out of time because of working on administrative tasks without clear benefits.
"You know very well that child's potential cannot be measured by the results of the exam, but is forced to pursue the numbers because of being urged by various stakeholders," he said.
The event was then filled with the Regent H Ansharuddin awarded teachers and students who made various achievements, both locally and nationally.
