Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The HST Environment Agency has extended a decline of plastic use in state high school SMAN 1 Barabai, Tuesday (3/9).
"This is to boost participation and public role in maintaining cleanliness of the environment in the city of Barabai," said the head of the agency, Muhammad Yani adding that a declining of plastic use is intensified to handling of garbage pile.
"We start it in school which is considered effective to instill love of environment cleanliness from early age to change child behavior," he pointed out.
Yani believed, the activity would be useful for school and students as well to increase their insight about garbage.
Students were invited to reduce using of disposable plastic, but instead using the one can be used repeatedly. They also taught about processing of organic and inorganic waste and to decrease plastics material use in daily activities.
Here the students were coached to make a creation of wastebin from waste around them, such as bottle, cup, paper, and cardboard to a high price craft. They were guided by Ansyari Adipati Jenaka, a STIKIP PGRI Banjarmasin graduate.
