Marabahan, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - From now on scouting activities ranging from the Kwarnas (national scout) to the Gugus Depan (front cluster) and even other activities at any time and anywhere to refuse the use of dangerous goods for the environment and are determined to make maximum use of products that can be used again (reuse).
Head of Indonesian National Scout Movement (Kwarnas) Budi Waseso stated this in his remarks read by Deputy Regent H Rahmadian Noor as Chair of Scout Movement Branch (Kwartir) of Barito Kuala District, South Kalimantan, on the 58th Scout Day.
Thousands of participants from elementary, junior and senior high school students attended the commemoration of the Scout Day in 2019 at the 5 Desember Football Field in Marabahan, Wednesday (8/28).
Budi Waseso said the failure to preserve the environment meant inviting various disasters. Therefore giving a timely response to disasters becomes the obligation and responsibility of everyone including scout members.
"Scouts should not stand idle in the event of a disaster, but must take an active role together with relevant agencies in carrying out the necessary first-aid measures," he said.
In another part, Budi Waseso said, the scouting movement is part of the national education system, so its alignment with formal and non formal education levels is very important.
He also said Kwarnas would ask the President as the Chairperson of Mabinas to launch scouting for children under seven years old. So far allcountries do not yet have such a level of scouting, except for developed countries.
The commemoration, which was also attended by the Speaker of the Legislative Council (DPRD) Sementara Saleh, members of the Batola Forkopimda, and the Batola Scout organizers, presented various attractions from Tabukan High School, from the Saka Wirakartika Kodim 1005 Marabahan Scout, Saka Bhayangkara Scouts of Batola Police and others.
