The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted, South Kalimantan, which is a combination of Banjarmasin City and Tanjung City, experienced a deflation of 0.07 percent in July 2019.
Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency Diah Utami said air transportation, snakehead fish, garlic, mackerel and eggplant shared the highest deflation in Banjarmasin.
While in Tanjung commodities that experienced price declines with the highest share of deflation included shallots, vegetable tomatoes, garlic, carp and cabbage.
she said deflation in Banjarmasin was 0.09 percent, while in Tanjung 0.18 percent.
"The cumulative inflation rate in Banjarmasin in July against December 2018 was 3.11 percent, while the cumulative inflation rate in Tanjung was 0.18 percent," she said in Banjarbaru, Thursday.
The Central Statistics Agency also noted the consumer price index in 82 cities. It recorded 55 cities experiencing inflation, and 27 deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Tual City at 1.55 percent.
