The Teacher Training College of Indonesian Teachers Association (STKIP-PGRI) Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, is expected to transform into a university.
Chairman of the Association of Higher Education Institutions Coach(PPLP PT) of PGRI Banjarmasin Drs. H. Dahri MM told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of the executive board of STKIP PGRI Banjarmasin for the period of 2019-2023 on Thursday, his side is now preparing STKIP PGRI towards the university.
The acceleration of the process is targeted to be able to be carried out by STKIP-PGRI Banjarmasin under the new leadership of Dr. Hj Dina Huriaty in the next four years. Dina Huriaty replaced Dr. H Abidinsyah.
"The requirement to become a university is indeed quite heavy. That is a challenge for us and I believe Mrs Dina can do it," Dahri said.
Dr. Hj Dina Huriaty, MPd, a doctor graduated from the Research and Education Evaluation of Yogyakarta State University, is committed to bringing STKIP-PGRI Banjarmasin to become a superior campus that produces professional education personnel with smart character.
"This campus has been on a good track. 6 of the 7 study programs have been accreditated B and PGSD will follow. Hopefully, our target in the near future to achieve the same. The opening of our new study program is part of our efforts towards the university," she said.
The inauguration of Dina Huriaty was chaired by the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Teachers Association of the Indonesian Teachers Association (BPLP-PGRI) Prof. Dr. Supardi.
Also present the Head of the Higher Education Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XI Kalimantan Prof. Dr. Udiansyah and a number of stakeholders such as South Kalimantan PGRI Chairperson M Hatta, Head of the South Kalimantan Education and Culture Office Yusuf Effendi and Banjarmasin City Education Office Secretary M Syarwani.
