State housing developer Perumnas will soon build 254 units of houses for pensioners of the Kotabaru regency administration in South Kalimantan.
Head of the regional branch of Perumnas Iskandar said here on Tuesday the houses will be built over a 34 hectare plot of land in the regency.
The plan is based on a mutual understanding between the district administration and the regional branch of Perumnas signed a few month earlier, Iskandar said.
Kotabaru regent H. Irhami Ridjani said plan to build houses for retired employees of the district administration has long been in the pipeline.
The houses would be given mainly for those not yet having own houses, Irahmi said .
Head of the Cipta Karya, Settlement and Housing service Akhmad Rivai MSi said the houses will have a floorspace of 36 square meters over a lot of 200 square meters.
The houses are priced at Rp70 million per unit, Rivai said, adding the price is cheap as it is subsidized by the government.
Earlier he said the plan was Perumnas would build 700 units of such houses for pensioners in Kotabaru this year.
