Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A free cataract surgery initiated by PT Adaro Indonesia and partners in collaboration with Barito Selatan District Government, Central Kalimatan, targeting 50 cataract sufferers to have their vision return to normal.
Representing Head of Barito Selatan Health Agency Yulia Widiastuti said cataract avision disorder that have an impact on disrupting daily activities.
"With Adaro's CSR program together with partners, namely PT SIS and PT Buma, we are targeting to operate 50 eyes," explained Yulia as chief executive, Thursday.
This collaboration program aims to improve public health and help cataract sufferers from disadvantaged families.

This free cataract surgery carried out for five days, November 11 to 14, 2024 took place at UPTD Barito Selatan Health Laboratory.
Adaro, partners and Adaro Foundation (YABN) througth their CSR, said Didi Cahyadi, representative of PT SIS, hope that the results of cataract surgery to be maximized and sufferers can see normally again.
"The target of 477 eyes of this free cataract surgery program covers the districts of HSU, Batola, Bartim, Barsel, Tabalong and Balangan," he said.
The free cataract surgery was opened by Barito Selatan (Barsel) Assistant for Government and People's Welfare Yoga P Utomo representing acting Regent and attended by Barsel Leadership Communication Forum, heads of sub-districts and urban villages.
"This activity is a form of concern from the government and private sector in effort to reduce the number of cataract sufferers in Barito Selatan," said acting Regent H Dedy Winarwan in his written remarks.
