The Government of Tanah Bumbu District held a Ramadhan Discount Market in Sumber Baru Village, Angsana Sub-district, to help low-income residents.

Head of the Trade and Industry Agency H. Deny Harianto in Batulicin said the implementation of the low-cost market involved TP PKK and DWP, Food Security Agency, National Logistics Agency (Bulog), GOW, Gatriwara and private parties.

"Discount markets are held during Ramadhan 1440 Hijri in rotation in all sub-districts in Tanah Bumbu. Sumber Baru Village is the first village to get a turn," he said.

Many various foods are sold, including rice, cooking oil, tea, syrup or sweet drinks, flour, and processed fishery products such as crackers, amplang (a traditional savoury fish cracker snack), meatball, and so on.

Cheap markets are expected to help supply basic needs and achieve stable prices.

According to him the public demand for basic needs entering the fasting month and before Lebaran tends to increase compared to the previous month.
