Head of the South Kalimantan Office of Religious Affairs Ministry (Kemenag) H Noor Fahmi announced that haj pilgrimage travel fees (BPIH) for the Embarkation of Banjarmasin was set at IDR 37,885,084.

According to Noor Fahmi, the determination of the Banjarmasin Embarkation pilgrimage fee amount was in accordance with the Presidential Decree (Keppres) which was received by the Kemenag South Kalimantan on Thursday (3/14).

"We have received a copy of Presidential Decree Number 8 of 2019 concerning BPIH in 1440H/2019M. We are waiting for further technical payment instructions," Noor Fahmi said.

He said, this Presidential Decree regulates two main things, namely the amount of BPIH for regular Hajj pilgrims at each embarkation and the amount of BPIH for the Regional Hajj Guiding Team (TPHD) per embarkation.

"When viewed this provision there is a decrease compared to 2018, that is around Rp272,000. Previously, South Kalimantan BPIH was Rp38,157 million," he said.

According to him, all these costs are used for the cost of pilgrimage flights, some other for the cost of accommodation in Mecca and the living cost of pilgrims.

Noor Fahmi said, regular Hajj pilgrims had paid an initial deposit of IDR 25 million. For this reason, the money that must be deposited is the amount of the difference between the initial deposit fund and the BPIH that has been set per embarkation.

"The funds are deposited into an account in the name of the Haj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) at the BPIH recipient bank appointed by BPKH," he explained.

Meanwhile, South Kalimantan's hajj quota has no change compared to 2018, which is 3,831 people, with details of 3,799 for pilgrims and 32 for Regional Hajj Officer Teams (TPHD).
