The Tabalong Environmental Agency (LH) targets to increase adiwiyata schools for the district, provincial and national levels in order to encourage awareness of environment preservation.
Head of the agency Rowi Rawatianice explained that until last year 45 schools have implemented the adiwiyata (environmentally cultured school) program.
"Many schools are interested in implementing the adiwiyata program and we hope that this year there will be additional adiwiyata schools," Rowi explained on the sidelines of the socialization at adiwiyata school for the district level.
75 participants took part in the socialization, including principals, teachers, and members of the Adiwiyata technical team.
The Acting Administrator of Tabalong Government Administration Nanang Mulkani when opening the socialization said the program is expected to motivate students to save on natural resources, energy, and water, as well as the utilization of waste.
"The most important thing is that there is a change in the behavior of school people so that they can cultivate environmental preservation," Nanang explained.
