Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor was awarded the 2018 IMI Award for his role in advancing automotive sports.


Chairman of the South Kalimantan branch of Indonesian Motorcycle Association (IMI) H Edy Sudarmadi, at the 2018 IMI Award presentation in the IMI Provincial Work Meeting (Rakerprov) at the Aston Hotel Banjarmasin on Saturday, said the governor was a figure of coach and observer of the automotive sport.
       
"In fact, personally, our governor likes automotive, for example often touring with his trail to remote areas," said Edy.
         
In addition, the Governor provided land in the area for plans to build a sports center for automotive circuits in the Banjarbaru. "He has much more attention to automotive sports in our area, so he deserved an award," he said.
         
Beside the South Kalimantan Governor, IMI South Kalimantan gave an award to the Regent of Tabalong H Anang Syakhfiani who also became an automotive figure in the province.

"The Regent of Tabalong (is awarded for) his commitment to succeed in the construction of two-wheeled racing circuits in his area," Edy said.
         
IMI South Kalimantan also gives the 2018 IMI Award to outstanding athletes, who have made the region proud at the national, even international level.
 
According to him, IMI South Kalimantan continues to work to improve the performance of national automotive sports with many scheduled events in 2019.
