Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Public Housing and Settlement Area Agency (Disperkim) continues to encourage district and city governments to deal with slums in their area.

     
"We synergize with each other and encourage the district and city governments to jointly handle slums," said Arifin Noor, Head of South Kalimantan Disperkim in Banjarbaru, Friday.
     
He said the slum area in South Kalimantan reached 3,820 hectares spread across 13 districts and cities with areas varying among regions.
     
In accordance with the authority, South Kalimantan's Disperkim handles slum with an area of 10 to 15 hectares, and more than that is under the authority of the central government.
     
"Disperkim in districts and cities are given the authority to handle slums up to 10 hectares, so there must be a synergy that handling can be maximized," he said.
     
He said, handling slum areas also requires a budget that is not small, because of the many facilities and infrastructure and infrastructure that must be handled.
     
According to him, budget constraints make the target of the "Zero Slum Area" for South Kalimantan cannot be realized due to handling that cannot be fully carried out
