Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Rural in South Kalimantan according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) survey experienced 0.57 percent deflation due to a decline in all household groups.


"All household consumption groups experienced an increase except for foodstuffs, thus it became a trigger for deflation," BPS South Kalimantan Head Diah Utami said in Banjarbaru, Sunday.

She said all household consumption groups experienced a relatively small increase ranging from 0.04 percent to 0.03 percent, causing deflation.

Household consumption in the foodstuffs group fell by 1.67 percent and other groups experienced an increase even though it was not significant.

"The largest increase in household consumption occurred in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.30 percent and the lowest in the education group by 0.04 percent," she said.

Other groups was processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco rose 0.25 percent, health groups 0.21 percent, transportation and communications 0.20 percent and clothing 0.18 percent.
     
Meanwhile, inflation in South Kalimantan, which was a combination of Banjarmasin and Tanjung, was 0.03 percent in August with a cumulative rate of 1.67 percent and 2.23 percent
