Paringin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan Resort Police (Polres) promised to immediately probe into the Polylab Ethanol fluid case, which caused two students died and dozens treated intensively. 

Balangan Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Moh Zamroni, through Head Operation Comr Joko Sutopo Monday (12/3) in Paringin, said police immediately investigate the case, which was handled by Batumandi Police Sector.

"There is an order from the Chief of Police, so the case of Batumandi (Ethanol Case: Red) to be immediately investigated, considering the victims have recovered and already can be questioned," he explained.

Police, he said, will question the victims, checked the results of laboratory examinations, even the school will be questioned.

The case was previously delayed considering the order of Balangan Police Chief to prioritize the efforts to rescue the victims first until their condition improves.

"Now the condition of the victims has improved and have normal activity again, so we can continue the investigation," he said.

Previously, on Monday, January 22, 2018, a teenager WHY (21) died allegedly due to consuming Polyalab ethanol mixed with energy drinks as a flavor enhancer, then MN (17), fellow WHY, drank the liquid also died.

While dozens of others have to get intensive care in Balangan hospital, and some have to be referred to other district hospitals for serious handling.
