Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarbaru City Police arrested 15 suspects for involving in motor vehicle theft (curanmor). 

The City Chief Police Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kelana Jaya di Banjarbaru on Monday said, they were apprehended during an operation code name Jaran Intan 2018, which lasted from 21 to 31 January 2018.  

"They were caught during the operation. They were involved in motor vehicle theft. From them We confiscated nine motorcycles and one car," he told. 

The police chief, who was accompanied by the police public relation Adj Comr (AKP) Siti Rohayati, said three of the 15 suspects were listed as the target of the operation (TO). 

"The officers focused on capturing the three suspects and they have been identified as the perpetrators of motorcycle theft, while 12 other perpetrators were arrested for the case of curanmor," he said. 

But, he added, eight other suspects were pickers or thieves, while four others were receptacles of the stolen goods. 

"The perpetrators who directly involved in the theft are subject to Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft by force, while the receptacles are imposed under section 480 of the Criminal Code," he said. 

The PR added, the mode run by perpetrators by taking advantage of the negligence of the victims who put their bike without a security key added or they make use of the surrounding situation.
