Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Member of Commission III DPRD Banjarmasin M Yamin asked the local municipality to immediately handle Bromo Island about 3 kilometers from the city and still isolated.
"We propose the city government to immediately make a bridge connecting to Bromo Island, because the area becomes very remote with the absence of roads, while it is in the provincial capital," he explained in the legislative council building on Thursday.
According to Yamin, Commission III is willing to go down directly with the city government to formulate the construction of road and bridge infrastructure to get there.
"Let's go there together so that the people there get serious attention, so far their access to the city is only by river transportation," he said.
He said, so far not a few complaints of Bromo Island people who go to the city council that they have not felt the development as other parts of the city.
"The aspirations of this suburban society are a serious concern for us in the council, so we will continue to guard the city development planning, even if possible starting this year," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Commission III H Asmat affirmed will concentrate on supervising the performance of partners in city government in infrastructure development this year.
In particular, said the PKB politician, for the development of road infrastructure and bridges in suburban areas, so all plan can be realized properly.
