A DPD-RI member support Banjarmasin to build museum

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - A member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD-RI) from South Kalimantan Antung Fatmawati supports the Banjarmasin City Government plan to build a museum of South Kalimantan people struggle.

"Banjarmasin Mayor's plan to build a South Kalimantan people struggle museum is very good and we support," said Antung Fatmawati in Banjarmasin, Thursday.

According to her, with the existence of the museum in Banjarmasin, then the younger generation will have the knowledge of the history of resistance of the people of South Kalimantan in the colonial era.

Historical evidence, she said, is not only found in this province but in the Netherlands are many of historical evidence and can be requested to the Dutch Government.

Requests for historical evidence in the Netherlands, she explained, must be a procedure that must be fulfilled by Banjarmasin Government for the Dutch Government to give it.

So is the history of Banjarmasin people resistance known as the 9 November 1945 event, she said, need to be re-echoed so that the younger generation aware.

Banjarmasin people's resistance, she said, caused many victims because the weapons used are still very simple compared to the invaders.

Separately, Mayor Ibnu Sina said starting 2018 the municipal government using one house in Siring Jalan Piere Tendean as a temporary museum.

"Before the museum was built for a while we used one house beside Anno House Jalan Piere Tendean as a temporary museum," he said.
