Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 12/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - President Director of the state owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I Danang S Baskoro said the physical expansion of Syamsudin Noor Airport has reached 12.5 percent.

"The 12.5 percent physical progress is in line with the planned target," said Danang S Baskoro in Banjarbaru after witnessing the emergency handling (PKD) exercise in the airport area on Thursday.

He is optimistic the 2nd package project worth Rp683.2 billion worked by PT Nusa Konstruksi Enjiniring Tbk will be completed in accordance with the target date set by the end of 2018.

The 2nd package project of the airport, located in Banjarbaru, includes infrastructure, supporting building, and expansion of (plane parking) apron.

"Physical expansion is still not visible, but the achievement has reached the target that has been planned, so we are optimistic the second phase of the project to be completed by the end of 2018," he said.

According to him, the project so far has not experienced any obstacles, except the weather is expected to enter the rainy season and fear to hamper physical work, especially concreting.

"The obstacle is the possibility of weather, because here there is no earthquake, like in Java, so the main obstacle to face is the weather, especially rain," he said.

Related to land acquisition, he said, there is no problem because the 2.07 hectares of land owned by the Air Force (TNI AU) has been completed, then the development continues.

Commander of Sjamsudin Noor Air Base Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Haris acknowledged that the acquisition of land owned by the Air Force no longer a problem because it has been resolved.

"Previously there was a citizen claiming the land belonging to the Air Force used as a firing range, but all have been resolved and PT AP I ready to repay it," he said.
