Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan - The Regional Executive Council (DPW) of Muhammadiyah South Kalimantan through the Community Empowerment Assembly (MPM) supported by the Charitable Institute of Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah (Lazis) set aside part of the wealth of zakat for the disability.


Chairman of the DPW Muhammadiyah South Kalimantan H Tajuddin Noor here on Wednesday stated by cooperating with Lazis Muhammadiyah the program to help people who physically are disabled can be implemented.

As today in the office of DPW Muhammadiyah on Jalan S Parman, Central Banjarmasin, he said, as many as 32 people with blind were given charity.

"We hope this charity can help their welfare in living with the not normal physical condition, but still steadfast with an independent spirit," he said.

Chairman of the MPM Muhammadiyah H Hesly Junianto added that the program gives attention to the disability continues to be implemented, among which by providing religious guidance and entrepreneurship for them.

Currently, he said, by cooperating with LazisMuhammadiyah, assistance for the development of the disability will be maximum.

"In fact, we expect children of people with disabilities to be assisted with educational aid that comes from Lazis," he explained.

Tit for tat, Chairman of Lazis Muhammadiyah South Kalimantan H Umransyah declared that the hope of MPM Muhammadiyah God Willing can be implemented.

"We will ask for data on how many children of disability in this area we will distribute assistance for their education," he said.

Because, he said, the wealth of zakat, infak, and shadaqah that people deposit in Lazismu can be used to help the education of children who can not afford, let alone children with disabilities like blind.

"Surely we will help, I am sure Muhammadiyah people are very happy their zakat property, infak and shadaqah set aside for this kind of society," he concluded.
